Challenge & Goal

While the name Evelyn and Bobbie carries weight in the clothing world, they noticed that the vast majority of their traffic came from branded key terms. In the competitive world of women’s intimates, Evelyn & Bobbie didn’t have the presence or market share to be seen for their non-branded initiatives. Thats why Evelyn and Bobbie teamed up with CSP, to expand their non-branded footprint with a well-targeted business centric SEO strategy aimed at securing increased visibility on search engines for key revenue driving transactional keywords in their industry. We also endeavored to increase their branded traffic, enhance other marketing channels, and monopolize major events such as displays on QVC.

Strategy & Tactics

Evelyn & Bobbie already had a strong site with some SEO foundation in place but minimal. They were profitable, growing, and even getting seen on major networks such as QVC. They teamed up with CSP and began formulating a revenue centric SEO strategy to target their weakest areas, expand into untapped markets, and dominate the SERP. 

Our strategy primarily focused on targeting industry-related keywords with strong transactional intent. While Evelyn & Bobbie had already established their brand, they faced fierce competition in the women’s intimate apparel market. To boost their visibility, we developed a series of persona targeted content, refreshed existing content, and executed a comprehensive backlink-building strategy. These efforts collectively helped to more than triple their amount of keywords ranking on the first page of Google.

The site already had a strong technical foundation and we aimed to keep it that way. Monthly crawls were performed to ensure no new errors popped up as we began implementing several small tweaks to optimize the existing framework with technical recommendations. 

Our content strategy consisted of a regular cadence of topic centric blogs, updates to meta tags, and recommendations for optimizing new & existing pages. We focused on non-branded keywords in order to increase their reach and visibility in areas where their market share was lower than desired. In the past year, we have increased their branded clicks by 42% and non-branded clicks by nearly 400%. We also managed to double the amount of targeted keywords ranking in the top 10 positions on Google.  This content was written for the user and configured to rank in Google.  The key to this content was truly understanding the audience and developing personas that shaped the content for conversion NOT just rank.

CSP also implemented a strategic link-building initiative that secured several links monthly. Our goal was to find the most valuable links that would have the biggest impact instead of just meeting the predefined numbers, and our results speak for themselves. We also worked to remove and disavow toxic links and non-relevant links that hurt Evelyn & Bobbie’s credibility.
