Before CSP could begin to turn around the drop in traffic, we first needed to identify the problem. There’s no point adding more sails to a ship with a leak, and patching any holes was our top priority. We started with a technical audit and keyword analysis, to locate the issue and assess the damage. Over time we managed to fix over 90 on-site errors and began weekly reporting to ensure nothing new popped up that would slow us down.
The audit revealed several keywords that previously were ranking in the top 10 positions on Google but now were hidden away well below the first page. We devised a three-pronged content strategy that involved updating existing pages in the Practices Area, adding new content to the Industry Pages, and writing relevant blogs that highlighted the most vital keywords to reclaim. This content strategy was a roaring success, bringing several high-value keywords back to the first page and increasing the overall keyword footprint for the site.
CSP also implemented a strategic link-building initiative, aimed at securing several high-quality links per month, with a total cap of over 40 links throughout the duration of the project. This multifaceted approach helped to pull SierraConstellation’s ranking back up to its previous status, as Google once again saw the site as a trustworthy and authoritative source for business and financial information.
